Hi, everyone.
I am filing my state tax, but I have a question want to ask about property tax deduction -
I and my wife are filing separately this year, we both have a house under each name. We are living in the same state, but living separately. My current house is my primary house, her house is her primary house.
I received a letter after I bought my house, indicating that Individuals and married couples are limited to one homestated standard deduction.
So I am confused that can I and my wife both fill the property tax deduction? or only one another?
Does property tax deduction = homestated standard deduction?
Thanks in advance!

What state? Every state has different rules.
And why are you filing separately? You will almost certainly pay more tax that way than if you filed jointly.
Thanks for your reply.
I am in Indiana.
My wife qualifies as head of household, which actually help her tax quite a lot
