How to eliminate 2 states from TTax updater as I no longer use those states?

The TTAX updater updates 2 states I no longer use. How to eliminate this?

To remove states from Desktop\CD, click on File in the top menu, then Remove State Return.

I have this same question, but the answer given doesn't work. My File drop down menu does not have that line item ("Remove State Return"). I have only New Return, Open Return, Sign In, and Exit. Can some please update this answer for 2022?

You can delete your state return by following these instructions.

Note: If you've already paid your TurboTax state fees or registered your free version with your state return attached, you can't delete your state return.

1. Sign in and open a section of your return
2. From the menu, select State and then select Continue on the Let's get your state taxes done right screen
3. On the Status of your state returns screen, select Delete next to your state, then answer Yes

If you’ve already paid your state fees, you can’t delete your return, but you can start over by selecting Start Over next to your state return on the Status of your state returns screen.
