Form 8582: Activity Description

I had the same problem and I also live in MD. However, I was able to efile the federal and luckily it was accepted as well. But I couldn't e-file MD state. It still gives me the same error ..........."Form 8582 not available". Plus, I have nothing to do with this form."

Assuming you have no passive activity losses in the current year, and none to carryover from prior years, Form 8582 is not necessary and thus, deleting it, assuming you have it in the list of your forms that have been completed or that are still missing information.  See if you can find it, and delete it.  Follow these steps to delete Form 8582.

1. Open or continue your return in TurboTax.
2. In the left menu, select Tax Tools and then Tools.
3. In the pop-up window Tool Center, choose Delete a form.  You should now see a list of all the forms your return has generated.  See if Form 8582 is on the list.  
4. Select Delete next to the form/schedule/worksheet in the list and follow the instructions.

I tried the deleting option but the error persist. It appears once the finalized form is loaded into turbotax properly then only we'll be able to "use" or "not to use" it and/or delete it. I believe we have to wait till 2/10/2022 (date i got from the link sent by turbotax tech support guys, see it in one of the users comment).

yeah I am from MD as well . i do own a home but never had this happened to me. i am perplex. the form 8582 wont show up on the delete tab. I assume that i've  to wait until feb 10 2022.

Sounds like Maryland is stalling instead of issuing Refunds. Not Cool. Turbo Tax give us some help......

I am in the same boat as many others. Was able to file the federal but am still unable to file my MD return. Please resolve!

Thanks for the suggestion, GeorgeM777. I tried it and the form was not there for me to delete- same as the others above.

Hello Everyone.  I am having the same issue and I live in Indiana.  Have been waiting almost a week since Turbotax emailed me and said that the form was available.  SMH.

I believe the date was 2/10/2022. See the link that was shared by one of the user mentioning dates for different availability date for MD. Let me know if it’s a different date.

When I did my taxes, it said the forms would be ready on 02/03/2022 but when I tried to e-file today the forms are still not available.

I am having same problem.  Chatted online with turbotax assistant and.they knew nothing about any issues.  I was able to efile federal.  This is pretty crappy. What is going on in Maryland????? Very suspicious!

I received the same message, but when you look at the dates the PAL form will be available by 2/10. The software shouldn’t be doing it but that’s what it is. Apparently, TurboTax cannot answer it. If it remained unresolved then I plan to file a paper document for MD and ask TurboTax for a fee refund
