Missouri. TurboTax says there is an update that I need before they can be transmitted. There are NO updates.
This appears to be a Turbo Tax issue?

there is a major problem with turbotax deluxe cd
the software will not allow e-filing of new york state taxes
say that a software needs an update
when you follow the instruction it says the software is up to date
this happened on my computer and on two friends computers (different cd)
called the help center and they said just mail the state returns
i have used turbotax for 20+ years and with a reply like that i will be looking at Tax act or h&r block software
and will advise friends and family to do the same
The Deluxe version will not start my state tax filing.
keeps saying there's an update I need before I can transmit. I go to Online menu, select Check for Updates. It says its updated, but still gives me the message that there is an update I need. This is for NY. Any help?
Finally got mine to go through. I had the basic version so I had bought NY separate. Eventually I filed federal only and that went through. Then I uninstalled and reinstalled TurboTax but it still didn’t work. So I deleted it then went to my email where I received confirmation for buying NY filing separate and re-downloaded it and e-filed NY tax only. Who knows which of all those steps was actually the one that actually fixed it but that’s everything I did...
I am in Illinois, bought my TT Premier from Amazon. I tried filing my taxes together(FED and STATE), and I got the same dialog box. I decided to try them individually, and the FED worked fine. The STATE gave me the dialog. After a lot of research, I uninstalled my 2019 version (still have 2017 and 2018 versions installed), and logged into TT online. I downloaded/installed 2019 Premier using my key, and when I loaded TT for the first time, it said it needed to update. Once it updated, I opened TT and was able to e-file my Illinois with no issue! I did NOTHING other than uninstall, and then re-install from TT ONLINE using my DVD key (from Amazon). I will say, however, that TT ONLINE showed my version as being 'Amazon'.
