The "carryover" portion of the question suggests that this is a credit for which you qualified in a prior year, but were not able to use.
If you are confident that there is no such credit carryover related to your tax return, you can use the "Delete a form" feature to delete a NY state schedule that should not be in your tax return:
- Open or continue your return in TurboTax.
- In the left menu, select Tax Tools and then Tools.
- In the pop-up window Tool Center, choose Delete a form.
- Scroll down the list to the NY state forms to identify any schedule related to a solar credit or solar carryover.
- If you are unsure, you may want to view a PDF of your NY state return, with all the worksheets, to identify the unneeded schedule to delete.
- Select Delete next to the unneeded form/schedule/worksheet in the list and follow the instructions.
