Arizona- capital gains from assets acquired after December 31, 2011

What assets are consider under the category "assets acquired after December 31, 2011? Turbotax gives one example of mutual funds. Do equity stocks fall under this category? I have read post about residential properties in this forum but no mention of stocks. Please respond as I need to complete the tax return before the deadline.
