Hi! If I live in MA, but I'm doing a Self employed merchandising job in FL, who does not have a state income tax, can I make under $400.00 without having to file it in 2021 taxes ?

OR Will I have to claim it on my 2021 taxes that I made a few bucks in FL ?

The $400 limit applies self-employment tax. You have to pay income tax on every dollar you make. You only have to pay self-employment tax if your net profit (sales - expenses) is $400 or more.

Massachusetts will also tax your income. MA residents pay tax on income earned anywhere.

Thanks Ernie!

So even if I make under $400.00 in FL, will I still need to report that I made an amount in a separate FL filling ?

There's nothing to file in Florida.  FL doesn't have a personal income tax.
