I have a Trust that is filed using Turbo Tax Business. The last two years I didn't have any problems filing. This year (2023 Tax Season) I keep getting the following message when attempting to e-file (my federal return went through okay once I e-filed without including the state return???):
"Tax year 2023 transmissions are not available. Turbo Tax Business is not ready to process Tax Year 2023 for this return."
DOES ANYONE KNOW WHY I CAN'T E-FILE THE WISCONSIN RETURN? I'm using only the standard forms for this Trust return, nothing complicated.
Also, Wisconsin will not accept a mail-in return for this type of return, you MUST e-file.

I have exactly the same issue with my TurboTax Business 2023 Estate return e-filing for Wisconsin. Have been unable to get an answer through the help line....
Yes, it is frustrating to pay nearly $200 for software that does not work. I've had three lengthy phone sessions with the Turbo Tax support people. In the last call this morning the support person looked at all the forms to see if they were on her "not ready to file" list. None of them were. We checked my return for errors, there were none. We checked for Turbo Tax program updates, there were none. She was well intentioned but did not have a solution to the problem.
There was no indication that it is too early to e-file, Wisconsin began accepting e-file on January 29. Wisconsin will accept a mail-in filing for estates if you request a waiver from Wisconsin DOR. I mailed in my request for a waiver today. I shouldn't need to do this...Turbo Tax needs to fix this. 😡
I'm hoping that someone from Turbo Tax is monitoring this forum and will offer a solution.
I am having the same problem with Turbotax Business and e-filing a Wisconsin trust return.
"Tax Year 2023 transmissions are not available. TurboTax Business is not ready to process Tax Year 2023 for this return"
E-file of the Federal return worked and was accepted.
Same with me, it is obvious that Turbo Tax has an issue with this.
I have little confidence that Turbo Tax will correct this before the filing deadline since nobody there has a clue how to fix this.
I received a confirmation from a supervisor at Wis. Dept. of Revenue stating that Form 2 can be mailed in or e-filed. In Turbo Tax there was a statement saying that you can only e-file this form. WRONG! They need to fix this as well.
Looks like Turbo Tax has gone to 💩. Next year I will look at other tax software or hire someone to file for me. 😤
Some new information in an email from a Wisconsin Department of Revenue supervisor:
"After reviewing our system, TurboTax has not passed all of their testing to be allowed to file the Form 2 Fiduciary return for WI like they have for other tax forms."
It would be nice if Turbo Tax would have offered up this information to prevent wasting everybody's time. 🤬
Spent nearly 4 hours and went through 7 phone handoffs. Only one person came up with the right answer that it was not e-filing because it was NOT done with the Pro versions for accountants. Maybe they will fix it, or I will just mail it around April 15 deadline. I will try and get my money back for the state program.
Here is the list of approved software -- DOR Third-Party Software for Fiduciary, Estate and Trust e-File Returns (wi.gov)
