How do I claim new windows all I see are credits for solar energy?

New windows for what? Your primary residence? 2nd home? Rental property maybe?

The Nonbusiness Energy Property Credit for Insulation, windows, doors, sky lights, HVAC, water heaters, etc. expired at the end of 2016.  It was not renewed or extended for tax year 2017.

The Feb 2018 budget deal brought appears to have brought back this deduction (max $500) retroactively for 2017. See
