I live in NYC but have a weekend home upstate. Last year, because of COVID, I lived upstate for 6 months. Where is my primary residence for the year for NYC taxes or does it remain the same? Thanks.

If your main, primary home (your domicile in tax terminology) remains in NYC, then for tax purposes you continue to be a resident of NYC during temporary absences.
