If you are claiming part year LA and part year AR, then each state taxes what was earned from that state. Your wages were LA sourced so LA taxes them. If you were a full year resident of AR, then you would claim the wages and get a credit for the tax paid to LA.
There are instances when paperwork should be mailed in after filing. Review Form 8453 and the instructions If this applies to you, you can fill out this form and mail in the required information.
This should get you "settled", haha! Glad you are enjoying the new place!

Thank you so much for the quick reply AmyC! That makes sense. I just want to ensure that something isn't being improperly excluded and I get hit a big tax bill later and penalties. I appreciate your help!
Glad to help. Now if you did not actually move to AR, you would not need to file an AR return. Some people are taking extended vacations, enjoying family, etc. If you packed it all up, vote in AR, license and insurance with intent to stay, enjoy AR life!
Oh, we did. Full relocation to Arkansas, and even with COVID, still really enjoying it here! Thank you so much again for your help though! Just finished e-filing 🙂 One odd thing though, after e-filing, I did receive a message stating that "Even though you e-filed, don't skip this paperwork. These forms are required by the government to complete your return." Never had that occur in the past with Turbotax. When I try to click Print Forms or Save Forms, I just get errors saying that "your forms can not be saved in PDF format". Now I get to worry that even though I paid turbotax to e-file, the government may still be expecting to receive printed forms, that turbotax won't even let me access...

Hi AmyC! Thank you so much for clarifying. I did check with Turbotax and confirmed that it was likely just a software glitch. Everything was e-filed (didn't elect to mail anything instead) and all returns were already indicated as accepted. So hopefully everything is good. Thank you so much for all of your help though! I truly appreciate it your speedy responses! Helped bring some peace of mind to all this madness 🙂
