Paid for state but didn't transmit due to state not accepting yet

I paid to file a state return but when I selected the transmit button, I received an error that the state is not yet accepting returns.  When I try again, will Turbotax recognize that I already paid to file the state return and successfully transmit.  Also, how can I determine if the federal return transmitted?

Yes, it will have the state already paid for. I ran in to the same thing today, Intuit is not accepting California state returns until 6:00am on January 16, 2020.

Regarding the Federal return, you'll get an email from Intuit confirming the Federal return is done, it will say "E-File Successful" as the subject. You can also click on "Check e-file status" in the software.
