why are my Sch B gains/losses showing on my non-resident tax return?  They are transfering from my Federal return!

It depends on the state for which you are filing a nonresident return.  For some states, you must designate during the TurboTax state tax return questions if the income is related to the nonresident state.  Other states may apply a formula to your total federal income to calculate how much nonresident tax you pay.
