So after reading some other posts here, I discovered that medical insurance premiums can be deducted on a NJ state return after the 2% threshold is met.
Does this include dental and vision premiums as well as the generic medical?
My gut says yes since dental visits and eye examinations are considered medical expenses, but figured it wouldn't hurt to confirm here as well since everyone in that other post just said medical and I wasn't sure if they were being specific to medical or if it was encompassing these two insurance premiums as well.
Additional info: The premiums are paid from a cafeteria health plan (high deductible with an HSA*) with my wife's employer and are federally tax-free, but I think they are included in the NJ wages on the w2 though I have not yet verified this because I didn't realise I was supposed to ask her for the premiums amount as it's not directly on the w2 (didn't think we'd make the 2% floor in the 2020 return as we didn't have major expenses *except* for the premiums, but I'm fairly sure we'll make it for the 2021 return).
*yep, I know that HSAs are not tax deductible in NJ (but distributions from it are provided they were for medical expenses). It's kinda what triggered this discovery; wife mentioned her employer was withholding extra from her last paycheck of 2021 because of it.

every thing is itemizable
that includes your high deductible (up to the amounts incurred), which is not reimbursed by definition,
copays after hitting the limit,
your medicare withholding,
non-prescription medicine
driving to and from the doctor etc.
