I filled out the federal form as married filing jointly but am confused on how to submit state taxes based on our situation:
- I lived and worked in Nebraska from Jan-March
- Moved to Texas in March
- Got married in May
- Worked new job in Texas Sep-Dec
- Husband lived & worked in Texas the entire year
I understand that I need to file for Nebraska as a part time resident and that Texas doesn't have state income tax so we don't need to submit anything there. But do I need to select married filing jointly for my Nebraska return as well? Would that take our entire year's combined income into account instead of just my income for the 2-ish months I worked there?
