Hello,
I need to file income tax for NH as I earned more than 2,400 in dividends/interest. I downloaded the NH return. However, TT thinks it is all tax exempt and is asking me for a exemption reason. It not exempt. I have attempted to change the entries under my federal filing but still no luck. Thoughts/help would be great!
Thanks so much!!

NH has a form DP-10 that must be filled out. Changing the federal does not fill out the required state form. Instead, follow these steps:

Hi Amy,
Thanks so much for the quick response. I am never asked if I want to file form DP-10. However because my interest was over the threshold, I know I must. I downloaded a preview of my tax return and the DP-10 is not included, and TT suggests that I owe no state taxes.
When I progress through the NH returns it already has my 1099-INTs. The only placed I uploaded them was via the federal return, thus I assumed that they were being pulled from my federal return.
Thoughts?
Thanks so much!
I would like to take a deeper look at this. However, I need a diagnostic file which is a copy of your tax return that has all of your personal information removed. You can send one to us by following the directions below:

Hi Amy,
Thanks again for the help. I may have found the issue - I had erroneously checked off a box under my federal return suggesting that NH didn't require income tax on the full amount of one of my 1099-INTs. However even when I changed this there is still no option about a DP-10 and it still says I do not owe anything for NH. Would you still like the diagnostics file?
Thanks!
Yes please. I am glad you found any mistakes but your return should be operational using the DP-10. We would love to take a look at your data!
This had problems in 2021 also.
2022 I am seeing line items for 2 dividend forms, without corresponding codes or payer ids. In spite of fact that I have no excludable income, so it is 0 for non taxable. Creates problems where non exist for me.
I looked up last years return and copied the line and entered it onto the form directly in form view. I was unable to simply delete the line item.
Try to force it by importing a .txf form, even if you have to export an old one. Then perhaps you can manually edit entry.
