Yes, you may file as married filing jointly.

Because you lived in two states you will have to file the following state returns to report your income in each state.

California Form 540NR Nonresident and Part-Year Resident tax return.

 Massachusetts Nonresident or Part-Year Resident Income Tax Return  Form 1-NR/PY

Yes, you may file as married filing jointly.

Because you lived in two states you will have to file the following state returns to report your income in each state.

California Form 540NR Nonresident and Part-Year Resident tax return.

 Massachusetts Nonresident or Part-Year Resident Income Tax Return  Form 1-NR/PY

just to clarify, MA won't allow "married filing jointly" as per <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="https://www.mass.gov/service-details/learn-about-filing-status-on-massachusetts-personal-income-tax"...>
