In general you pay income tax to the state where you performed the work. If your husband was a remote worker and worked in Georgia, you would owe Georgia nonresident taxes on the income he earned in Georgia. You cannot necessarily rely on the information on your W2 for the state wages because you did not contact the company to change in work location, so they had no way of knowing. If he did not work in Georgia you have to report zero Georgia wages and then you would not owe Georgia taxes. If he did work in Georgia, you would report the Georgia income and pay tax on that amount.
