Making a payment to Arizona when filing electronically

We are going to owe the state of Arizona money for the first time, so I'm a little unclear on the procedure. The AZ DOR website has 104V for money owed (I'm fairly sure this is what I file to pay), this can be payed online.

What I'm unclear on and can not find the answer anywhere is, I'll be filing the regular 104 electronically. Do I wait until it (104) is excepted or can I fill out 104V and pay immediately after I send my forms in? I'd like to get everything done all at the same time, I'm already cutting it way closer to the deadline than I'm comfortable with. This year we had an issue with getting a W-2 late.

Thank you in advance, I really appreciate any help.

Filing with TurboTax Deluxe, Windows.

Making a payment to Arizona when filing electronically

It’s best to wait until your Arizona return is accepted before making a payment in case the state rejects your return and you make changes that alter the amount due. Returns are generally accepted within a day or two at the latest.

Waiting is just a precaution.

As long as the type of payment you sent is categorized correctly (payment of 2022 tax, not 2023 estimate), AZ will credit your account even if your money is received ahead of the actual tax return.
