hello, i live in cleveland ,ohio but work all over ohio as a salesman, my employer is based in Chicago, box 20 on my w-2 (locality) reads Cuyahoga, as in Cuyahoga County, no city name here. box 5(medicare,wages,tips) is not the same as box18(local wages tips), box 19 is the local tax,it seems the tax was withheld is at 2.5% rate. Is this the correct thing for my employer to do? and do i have to pay residence tax to cleveland (2%) although i dont work in any 1 city?
Thanks

The local wages could be different from the medicare wages since you may have not worked in the local tax district for the whole year, so that looks normal.
There could be a county tax district as apposed to a city district, so the entry in box 20 sounds reasonable.
Although the instructions for the CCA municipal income tax does not address the issue of living in a CCA community and working elsewhere, since there is no mention of income earned elsewhere being exempt, I assume that you do have to pay the tax since you reside in Cleveland.
