Hello,
I lived in South Carolina all year in 2023. I collected unemployment from the state of New Jersey for part of the year however. I had Zero Income in NJ in 2023. The only money related to NJ in 2023 was the unemployment insurance. Do I need to file a NJ tax return? Or is it not relevant to me because NJ does not tax Unemployment Benefits?
Thx

No, New Jersey (NJ) does not tax unemployment benefits like the federal return does. Do not file a NJ return if that is the only income from NJ.
Unemployment compensation, taxed on your federal return, is taxable to South Carolina (SC) if it was received while a resident of South Carolina.
