My W-2 has amounts for lines 16-19 for Missouri, the state I earned my income in. However, does not have an amount for line 16, only 17 for the Kansas, the state I live in. The system is saying I cannot move forward as 17 cannot be more than line 16. I DID NOT earn any income in KS. I do not want to add the same amount earned for KS as I believe it will double my earnings. Please advise.

Last year was the same thing. Lived in KS, worked in MO. Say I made 100k. I put 100k for line 16 on the KS and MO info BOTH. Was this saying I made $200k?
If your employer withheld KS state tax from your paychecks, they should have box 16 completed on your W-2. If they won't provide a corrected W-2, you can enter the same number from box 1 into box 16. It shouldn't double your income.
