Turbo Tax has made my life difficult.
I keep getting the message "line 6 State ID must be entered" and it won't let me E-File.
They have put a zero on the form so it shouldn't require a State ID.
I have gone back and entered a State ID on my 1099 DIV's and it still won't let me E-FILE.
What can I do and/or can I get my MONEY back?

If TurboTax requires a State ID on line 6 of your 1099-DIV and you don't have an actual State ID number, you can try entering all zeros (such as 0000000) as a placeholder to bypass the error.
To enter all zeros for the State ID in TurboTax Online:
1. Go to the section where you enter your 1099-DIV forms.
2. Select the specific 1099-DIV with the issue.
3. Find the field labeled State ID Number or similar near line 6.
4. Enter 0000000 or a similar string of zeros as the State ID.
Make sure all other fields, especially state withholding amounts if zero, are accurately entered.
This can help you proceed with e-filing when the state ID number is missing or not provided on your form.
The work around didn't work for me. This issue was not as a result of something I did wrong and in my opinion was a coding error. I wonder why it wasn't corrected. I was unable to efile my taxes because the program wouldn't let me. I am not happy.
Have your tried deleting the 1099-Div and reentering it?
