It won't let me file my return because i can't fill in my state id but my w-2 does not have a state id on it

Does your state pay state income tax? If it does not pay income tax, then leave the Boxes 15-20 blank.

If your state does pay state income taxes, ask your employer for the State ID number or any other missing data.
