I'm using Turbotax Premier for Windows (CD version with all updates installed) and have been in a holding pattern for a month due to an issue with TT Premier continued reporting that Alabama tax forms for 2021 are not yet available to file by mail or for e-filing. All data has been entered and I'm stuck in the Review Stage due to this issue. The Alabama state forms are visible in the Forms view, but have "(Not Done)" next to the form name. The forms are in fact completely populated with the required data, but have "DO NOT FILE" in bold red print at the top of each form. The forms also can not be printed - clicking the Print button returns the following message: "Your Alabama return(s) is currently unavailable to view, print, or download because some of the forms haven't been finalized yet." The Alabama Department of Revenue has confirmed that the forms have been final for some time, which seems to suggest this is a TT issue. I've talked with TurboTax phone support for 2+ hours without any resolution - the standard answer is the that the forms are not yet available in TT and I can use paper forms or the Dept of Revenue website if necessary. Has anyone had and successfully resolved this issue? I've seen other issues with Alabama returns reported, but nothing that prevents a return from being finalized, printed & filed. Thanks

UPDATE - I managed to resolve this issue by going to the Online menu and choosing the "Download State" option. Downloading State of Alabama forms a 2nd time easily cleared up the issue I was having with my Alabama return (TT reporting that Alabama tax forms were not yet available) and my E-file was accepted by Alabama with no further issues. The automatic check for and installation of updates routinely performed by TT at startup seem to work only for federal tax forms. In retrospect, this seems like a rather obvious trouble shooting step that technical support could (should ?) have suggested during my support calls. Continuing to tell me that the forms were not ready in TT despite an abundance of evidence suggesting otherwise was certainly a frustrating waste of time.
