Is turbotax for Non-Residents? How to we claim tax?

TurboTax cannot prepare Form 1040NR or 1040NR-EZ for non-resident aliens.  TurboTax can only prepare returns for US citizens and "resident aliens for tax purposes."

TurboTax has a partner for preparing non-resident alien returns called Sprintax (one "t").

You can review their website and FAQ page, and they have email, phone, and chat support.

If your competitor Tax Act can come up with the nonresident alien form, why shouldn't turbo tax match that offer?

See Form 1040-NR - Should I File? (taxact.com)

I tried to convince my friend to use Turbotax today, but they came up with a third option: www.freetaxusa.com...Turbotax needs to step up.

Also see Does TurboTax handle Form 1040-NR for nonresident aliens? (intuit.com) for the latest explanation. I assume it's not free to use Sprintax.

NON RESIDENT ALIEN

If you are a non-resident alien, your return must be filed on Form 1040NR, which cannot be prepared using TurboTax.  You can use TT’s partner, sprintax:
