When you enter the information into TurboTax, a copy of the W2-G is generated for your records. You can select any of the Date Won entries you wish, as well as the transaction and race fields. The only thing reported on your actual tax return will be the total amount that was won.
In the unlikely event that the IRS questions the total entry, keep your copies of all the W2-Gs with your tax records.
To clarify, are these all issued by the same casino? If so, then you can enter them as a combined total.
Yes, they are from the same casino. Do I not need to worry about the sections on the form that vary between each of the W-2Gs? Such as box 2: Date Won, box 5: Transaction and box 6: Race. These are all different on each of my forms. What date would I use for the Date Won if I'm combining everything?
