Is there a renters credit in california?

Yes, California has a renter's credit.  For Single filer, it is $60.  If you are Married Filing Joint, the credit is $120.

In the California interview, look for the section called Renter's Credit. TurboTax will ask you the qualifying questions, determine if you qualify, and calculate the credit for you.

I recently filed my taxes with TurboTax but, though I'm eligible for renter's credit in California I never filed for it in my tax return. Can I correct this?

The return was filed yesterday but the advisor at TurboTax neglected to apply for the renter's credit I was entitled to. So, what do I do to correct this?

If you have a correction to make for tax year 2022, you may file an amended return using TurboTax software for free.  Here is how to file an amended return.

Log in to your account and select “Amend a return that was filed and accepted.” If you used our CD/download product, sign back into your return and select “Amend a filed return.” You must file a separate Form 1040-X for each tax return you are amending.
