The amount paid field for the Maryland credit for long term care insurance the total amount paid to date as of 12/31/2018. That is the total amount paid in premiums. Maryland states:
For the current tax year, you can claim a credit equal to the premiums paid, up to a maximum of $410 for each insured person 40 years of age or younger, and up to a maximum of $500 for each insured person 41 or older.
