In box 15 the state of Tennessee is missing

It is true that TN does not have a state tax,  but TN does have local taxes which comes up on the next question asking for box 15 also.

Tennessee does not have a personal income tax.

The Hall Tax for reporting interest and dividends was repealed for tax year 2021 and all future tax years.

Go to this TN website for information - https://www.tn.gov/revenue/taxes/hall-income-tax.html#:~:text=It%20was%20enacted%20in%201929,or%20af....

There is no need to have the information inside the W2 however if you wanted to use the local income tax for a deduction on Schedule A, there is another way to make sure it gets included.  First remove it from your W2.

  1. Sign into your TurboTax account
  2. Select Deductions and Credits > Estimates and Other Taxes Paid > Income Taxes Paid
  3. Put your local tax paid in the slot for 'Withholding not already entered on a W-2 or 1099
  4. See the image below
