If you correct something on Federal, TT does not update Ohio Form correctly.

Hi   I had to correct un-reimbursed medical expenses.   I had entered amounts that should not have been in there, so deleted and thus should have changed my Ohio form and would then owe money.  I want it to be correct even if I owe money.    So the question is mainly for someone who is familiar with this Ohio Form on Turbo Tax.  It appears that if you correct something , it does not update Ohio Form correctly.  Thanks for any help

Medical expenses are often not deductible on your federal tax return. That is because only the amount that is more than 7.5% of your adjusted gross income is deductible as an itemized deduction.  Also, you need to be able to benefit from itemize your deductions, which is hard to do since the standard deductions are $12,950 (single filer) and $29,500 (filing married-joint.) Ohio uses the same deduction as you use on your federal tax return. So it is possible that your medical expenses weren't deductible in the first place, so reducing them had no affect on your state tax return liability.
