If you physically worked in GA, then your income from that work is taxable by GA - even though you are a FL resident. In that situation, you would have to file a GA non-resident tax return.

Generally, a company will assess tax if the employee works in a particular state.If you work in Georgia and live in Florida then you probably will pay tax. If your company is merely located in Georgia but you don't work there, then probably not.

What if my W-2 is issues from Dept of Defense? I’m not a GA resident but they took out state taxes that I’m trying to get back. GA is trying to say All of the DoD earnings are taxable. Is this correct?
