If I have a CT drivers license, but live and work in RI, do I have to file a CT state return as my permanent residence?

I have lived in RI now almost 3 years but I haven’t changed over my license.

If you did not live or work in CT in 2024 you do not file a CT tax return.  On your federal and RI return you enter the address where you receive your mail.

Tip: get your Rhode Island driver's license asap.  Since your CT license is still active, CT's database may assume that you're still a CT resident - even though you're not.  There have been instances where a taxpayer's "old" state looked for a tax return from them simply because they still held the old state's DL.

As @DoninGA said, in reality you have no income tax obligation to CT.
