Hi,
Previously every year it would be possible to efile my federal return online, and print and mail my completed state return separately. I just reached the filing page and I am only seeing two options this year:
You'll need to sign in or create an account to connect with an expert.
The fee that you are charged for the state is not a fee to efile, it is a preparation fee. If you use TurboTax's software to prepare the form, there will be a charge, whether you mail it or efile. If you have not efiled yet and wish to delete your state return, please click here for instructions.
So the difference I paid to purchase Turbotax WITH 1 state vs just the federal version isn't the "tax prep fee"?
Why did I pay more to buy that version and now you want to charge me to e-file NJ? I want to just print it and mail it.
@budlavin11 The original question is about TurboTax Online, but your question sounds like you purchased the software to install on your computer.
When you purchase the CD or download and install it on your computer, you can prepare and e-file up to five federal returns for no additional cost.
If you have the one state included version, you can prepare, print and mail your state with no additional cost.
