I lived and worked in CA for all of 2018. I retired at 12/31/18. My wife lived in AZ for all of 2018, but had no income. Do we need to file an AZ state return?

No if your wife had no Arizona income and you lived and worked in CA for all of 2018 then you do not have to file an Arizona tax return.
