Missouri Mo. Rev. St. §135.096 Allows an individual tax deduction equal to 100% of premiums paid for qualified long-term care insurance which are non-reimbursed and are not included in an individual's itemized deductions.

When you prepare your return using TurboTax, the software will alert you to the possible deduction for LTC premiums in your State.

I live in Virginia and the state tax question is asking me about Long Term Care premium not taken as a deduction on my federal return.  Since I ended up using the standard deduction on my federal return, can I add those premiums to my Virginia return since they weren't used on my federal return.

Yes, you may take the Virginia deduction for long-term care health care insurance premiums only if you did not take a deduction on your federal return. Enter the amount of the premiums that you paid during 2022 for your long-term health care insurance premiums when prompted by TurboTax.

Fore more information, please refer to the Virginia Tax website for Deductions.
