employer incorrectly shows my wages as IL wages and IN wages. They should only be IL wages. There was no IN tax w/h only IL tax was w/h. I want to just file listing all wages as IL. I do not want a notice from Indiana. I would think this happens all the time and Indiana would understand.

You do not need a corrected W-2. Enter your W-2 exactly as is. You have to file a tax return in both states. You must file a non-resident tax return in Illinois in addition to your regular tax return in Indiana. That's because (like all other states) Illinois can tax non-residents on income earned within its borders. You'll be able to take a credit on your IN return for taxes paid to IL.
