I changed permanant address twice during the year

I changed pernant address from Missouri to Kansas around August 2020, then moved back to Missouri on December 2020. I commuted to Missouri for working when i lived in Kansas. Should i file resident for Missouri and nonresident for Kansas? or part year resident for both state?

Should i say "Yes" for the question if you lived in other state?

Yes, you should answer Yes to that question and file your tax return as a part-year resident for Kansas if you established your residency there and part-year resident for Missouri.

The only income i earned is from Missouri when i lived in Kansas from August to Novemeber. Is that a kansas source income?

Additionally, What's the date of residency i should inpute for Missouri? When i input January 1 2020, it said "The date became a resident should be after January 1 for a part year resident. If you were a resident the entire year, uncheck the part-year resident box"

No, that would not be "Kansas source income". If you were renting in Kansas for that short period of time, you can (if you want) also file a Kansas State Income Tax Return, but if you had no income and therefore no withholding - AND you were only there for a few short months - you truly do not even need to file that return as you don't owe them anything and they don't owe you anything.  Per IRS regulations, you are presumed a resident of a given state for tax purposes if you've resided in that state for more than 6 months continuously and you would be considered a non-resident of the state that was your previous state of residency if you were gone for more than 18 months. Since neither apply to your unique situation, then just keep it simple and use your original state of residency as your full year state of residency.
