how do I report income in joint return for NY and NJ as part year resident when only I was a part year resident of these states and my spouse was a non-resident

Hi, my question is that how do I report income in joint return for NY and NJ as part year resident when only I was a part year resident of these states and my spouse was a non-resident but we have to file joint state return, will my spouse's income also be included during my residency period in respective tax returns or only my income needs to be reported ?

You will be able to indicate your dates of residence and that your wife was a nonresident.  You will also be able to allocate the state income in the New Jersey section.
