There isn't a deduction for purchasing state park passes, however, you may purchase a State Park pass on your Maine tax return (click the first screenshot below for reference). This option comes up late in the Maine tax interview in the section on Voluntary Contributions and Park Passes. Purchasing a park pass will reduce your Maine refund (or increase your balance due to Maine).
To purchase a State Park pass on your Maine tax return:
- Continue your return in TurboTax Online. (If your return isn't open, you'll need to sign in and click Take me to my return.)
- Click the State tab at the left side of your screen. (Click the second screenshot below.)
- Follow the onscreen instructions to add the Maine tax return.
- Continue through the Maine interview. When you get to the Voluntary Contributions and Park Passes screen, click Yes. (Click the third screenshot below.)
- Click Continue on the Voluntary Contributions screen.
- Click Continue on the Total Contributions screen.
- Click Yes on the Park Passes screen.
- Enter the number of individual and vehicle passes on the Park Passes? screen, then click Continue. (Click the fourth screenshot below.)
- TurboTax displays your total contributions and park pass purchases. (Click the fifth screenshot below.)
