How can I qualify for the Illinois credit? I work in MO and live in IL. I heard there is a credit to help with what I owe Illinois.

It says I do not qualify for the Illinois credit but how do you become qualified for it?

You must complete your Missouri state return first- then you can claim the Cr4edit for taxes paid to another jurisdiction on your Illinois return.

Go to Your 2024 Illinois taxes are ready for us to check page and Edit Credits and Taxes.

Look for Credit for taxes paid to another state (Edit) or the Other state(s) income and tax summary.
