Why TT Premium 2018 does not show full bank debit info for taxes owed to IRS and MN State?

Dear TurboTax Specialists,

I have chosen in TT to E-File both my Fed and State taxes.

1. I owe 2018 taxe to IRS. Why Form 1040 in does not tick off the "Checking" or "Savings" box as I entered it in TT, and show only X's for the bank debit account information that makes it hard to review it for accuracy?

2. I also owe 2018 tax to Minnesota State. Why Form M1 does not show any information for the bank debit account as I entered it in TT? How can I be assured that may payment will be redrawn from my bank account, and I will not incur any late tax payment penalties?

Thank you very much!

Here are the answers to your questions referenced to the line numbers:

  1. We usually confirm the information the first time around then show the xxxx later for privacy purposes so that your private information can't be viewed by others.
  2. Bank information is entered separately for federal and state purposes.  Not all states allow direct debit payments from the returns, Minnesota is one of those states.  Here is a link to pay your MN taxes online:https://www.revenue.state.mn.us/individuals/individ_income/Pages/Make-a-Payment.aspx
