Have the issues with filing Minnesota Tax returns been resolved?

One was supposedly fixed...3 others are "expected" to be fixed by 9 Feb....but could be delayed further.

Have the issues with filing Minnesota Tax returns been resolved?

According to the original post, all the issues are listed as resolved as of the 2/8/19 update. I can confirm my similar error still occurs as of today, 2/8/18. In fact, my original question posted last week appears to have been deleted as I have no way of accessing it through my profile or through search.

Have the issues with filing Minnesota Tax returns been resolved?

The is a link at the bottom of the "Resolved"-Notice with help to get it updated properly...I have no idea what is involved, but perhaps it is not as simple as just returning to your file and sending it off.:

Have the issues with filing Minnesota Tax returns been resolved?

There seems to be a new error. I keep receiving a message with "/ReturnState/ReturnDataState/SchM1SA/HomeMortgIntPtsNotRptGrp - Your return could not be processed for e-filing due to incorrect or missing information on your Home mortgage interest and points not reported on federal Form 1098."

I verified that all of the information is there; I think that Turbotax is not correctly populating the field on the M1SA with the information from the federal forms.

Have the issues with filing Minnesota Tax returns been resolved?

I called them and they didn't have any good answers, supposedly there is a fix coming "in a few days" I don't understand how they can have a fix for the CD version but are unable to fix the web version at the same time.

I think I figured out what the problem is. Minnesota form M1SA, line 10, asks you to list the name and address of the person who received the 1098 for a co-owned loan OR you write in "see attached" to the right of line 10. The online form for M1SA has fillable fields to do the former and blank space for the latter. Turbotax is not doing either. The information is listed on federal form Schedule A (included with state forms) but for whatever reason that information is not registering with the state.

I'm giving up on e-filing and will mail my return in.

Have the issues with filing Minnesota Tax returns been resolved?

I am getting the following error when filling the Minnesota State Tax return: Your return could not be processed for e-filing due to incorrect or missing information on your Home mortgage interest and points not reported on federal Form 1098. There is no 1098 for that amount as it is computed on the Federal return. The suggestion for what needs to be done says: Answer “Yes’ on the question “did you buy your home from the recipient and NOT receive a Form 1098. This is not correct as I did get a 1098 for the mortgage interest, but I did not get a 1098 for points deducted over the life of the loan as this is computed each year by TurboTax based on the life of the loan and the amount of points charged when the loan was originated.

I received this same message.  The first time I called in, the person I spoke to said they needed to get an "expert" on the line.  He told me he would call me back in 15 minutes.  That never happened.  It has been over a week.  The second time I called in, I spoke to someone would told me that "this isn't a known issue."  If you search the internet for this problem, there have been incidents of this happening and it seems as though each of these people have reached out to TurboTax.  So how can it not be a known problem?  The last person I spoke to told me I would have to print my state return off and mail it in.  If I can't e-file it, which is what I wanted to do, I don't feel like I should be paying for the Minnesota tax return fee.  The person I was speaking to stated "the e-filing is free."  Well obviously the software is working correctly, so why am I paying for it?"  I am going to try to contact the State of Minnesota to let them know that TurboTax is informing the filers to print off their returns and mail them into the State, thereby causing the State to have a lot more returns filed by mail instead of e-filed.

I hear your frustration! I contacted the MN Department of Revenue. For specific names and contact information, go to: <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="https://www.revenue.state.mn.us/about_us/Pages/leadership.aspx">https://www.revenue.state.mn.us/abou...>

Have the issues with filing Minnesota Tax returns been resolved?

I’ve had three phone calls so far. As far as I can tell these issues have not been fixed in the online version. I don’t think mailing it in will make a big difference because from what I can tell line 10 on the M1SA is incorrect. I tried to get a refund from TurboTax since the prepared statement is incorrect, but I’m just being ignored now. No call backs, no responses to direct messages - nothing.
I might just do the state return manually and take this as a lesson learned to never use TurboTax again. Not only did they bring out a poor product (for Minnesota homeowners anyways) but this is also some of the worst customer service I’ve ever seen (and I’m a Comcast customer).
