I keep getting this error when trying to file my Georgia return:
Information Worksheet: Taxpayer First Name - this state return is not yet ready to file. The federal return contains the following situation which requires an additional update to this state: Due to federal legislation recently passed, the allowable casualty loss claimed on federal Form 4684 - Casualties and Theft Loss for major disasters has changed. We are working diligently on updating the impact on your state and will have the updates available as soon as possible..
it’s stuck in an endless loop and won’t let me fix

One reason your return can't be efiled right now is that it might have a form that is not available for efiling. State and federal forms are released on different dates. You can visit the following TurboTax help article to see if any of your forms are currently unavailable.
If all your forms are available and you can check out some of our common solutions. If your tax return can't be e-filed for some reason, TurboTax will let you know.
If your issue continues, contact us again and give us more details.
I checked the section on when forms will be available. It’s says Georgia information worksheet is unavailable. I’ve never had an issue, and I’ve used turbo tax for years. I’ve tried deleting cookies, and all other trouble shooting suggestions. It tells me to check entry and gives me the blank that contains my first name. Obviously my first name is correct. I’m not sure what the federal form 4684 has to do with my Georgia return. Any suggestions on how to get it to file my taxes? Or should I use another company?
I am having the same issue with GA return and the federal form 4684. It is an endless loop with my name being the fix but has no solution. What is this issue with turbo tax? When will it be resolved?
Can we get an update on this? I am getting the same thing. It is an endless loop.
same issue this is a turbo tax issue and not a form issue
The 4684 is available for federal returns but not for all states. You can go ahead and file your federal.
Some states haven’t responded to Intuit about conformity with the Federal Disaster Relief Act so we are blocking those state returns for now. GA finally confirmed that they conform with Federal and GA will be live after this week's update (Friday expected available). You can file GA then.
Hey Amy,
I tried that, but it wouldn't let me file the federal either. I can't remember what error I received when I submitted everything, but that is ok. I will wait until Friday and try again.
Thank you for the help.
Will this change our state refund?
No, if you file your Federal and State returns separately, it won't change your State Refund amount. Wait until your Federal return is Accepted before Efiling your state return.
Here's more info on Filing Federal and State Returns Separately.
Actually it did change my state refund amount. GA aligning with the federal law increased our GA refund considerably.
