2022 was my first year having my own business and filing a schedule C on Turbotax. It is true that the first year of business is the hardest and in my case involved a lot of initial investment. My Federal refund was about 85% of what was withheld, which was deposited within 4 weeks no problem, however the GA state refund I requested was only about 42% of what was withheld but months went by with no deposit. Well today, 12 weeks after filing I received 33% of my GA state refund and this letter in the mail:
I am guessing this is what you would call an audit of my schedule C correct? So it looks like I only have 3 weeks to submit my business income and expenses categorized by line item, but I don't really know what that means and in what detail as it provides no examples. Do I just take an excel document and put in the numbers for each individual income and expense item and submit it? Or do I need to also provide dates, receipts, 1099's, logs, etc.? If its the latter then I have literally thousands of documents. How would I provide that in an organized manner?
I don't even know how to find the actual expenses and profits submitted by Turbotax as I no longer have access to the input portion of Turbotax when logging in, but instead just the 118 pages of tax documents that it spits out at the end. Where can I find these important pages/numbers in this 118 pages of documents?

it's asking for proof of the line items on the schedule C. that would include any1099s you got for the revenue or bank statements showing deposits. for expenses they want bills or other support. I strongly suggest you do not try to handle this on your own but either engage a tax pro or use
The Audit Defense service provided by TaxResources, Inc., also called TaxAudit.com, in partnership with TurboTax. If you paid for Audit Defense and you received a notice, call TaxResources, Inc. at 877-829-9695, or report your notice on their website at http://intuit.taxaudit.com/. Do not contact the tax agency until you have spoken to TaxResources. They may contact them on your behalf. if you did not pay for audiit defensse there is likely to be a fee.
No one here can tell you what Georgia will accept as "proof of your business income and expenses". I suggest you call the number provided in the letter and ask them.
