Form TC-W40 needs fixing for state return...

I am being asked to fix the 14 character employee withholding number on my Utah state tax return, but it is there and correct on my documents and I can’t figure out how to change it if it does need changing... please help :(

It depends. I recommend revisiting the input and verifying there are no spaces in the middle of the entry or blanks at the beginning or end of the withholding number.

If the form was imported, I recommend deleting it and manually entering the affected Form W-2.

Otherwise, you may need to delete and re-add the state.

To delete and re-add the state: 

• From the left menu select State>
• Continue>next to Pennsylvania, click the Trash Can icon and follow through the rest of the questions ending with Done
• Click Add Another State>Your state>and go through the interview again.
