Won't accept payee's number. Same problem year after year. How can I file this when it get's stuck here!! It keeps talking about a W-2 but this is a 1099.

Follow these steps:

1. Return to the 1099 and edit
2. The MN state id should be exactly 7 digits long.
3. Verify the state id is 7 digits long with no dashes, no MN prefix, no blank. You may want to delete the entire entry and type it in again manually to be sure there isn't a ghost blank hidden in there.

The program will use the federal id - 9 digits or add MN to the front if it is not 7 digits.
