I received a CA FTB notice saying they don't have my LLC tax return (Form 568, CA State) for 2020. It is a single member LLC and the form was included in my State return using the TurboTax Home and Business, efiled correctly. I am wondering if I still need to file Form 568 separately even it's already included in my State return?
I am under the impression that TurboTax had resolved this issue already that there's no need to file Form 568 separately (since when). Please confirm.

Yes, you should send the California FTB a copy of Form 568 for the year in question. Unless TurboTax tells you to mail Form 568 this year (in the Filing Instructions with your state return), the form should be included with your e-filed California return this year.

FYI. I have the chance to check my LLC return filing records with the FTB, I found FTB had my 2021 and 2022 LLC returns but no 2020. So after tax year 2020, TurboTax seems to fix/handle/efile the Form 568 correctly (which is included in my personal State return that I efiled) and I don't need to anything separately with the Form 568 as before.
Hello -- How did you check FTB received your 2021 and 2022 568? I just efiled my 2024 tax return and 568 form is part of California but turbotax didn't mention that CA LLC form sent in progress email. I got confirmation that my personal state return accepted. Is there way I can call FTB and confirm they received my 568? Please let me know how to check? Thanks
You can check whether the Franchise Tax Board (FTB) has received your Form 568 by contacting them directly. Here are a few ways to do that:
