For NC Supplemental Schedule, Form D 400 Sch S, how do I enter interest income from obligations of states other than NC?

Those $$ are transferred from the Federal area where you entered any 1099-DIV forms, with box 11 values in them, or 1099-INT forms with box 8 values in them.

When you enter a 1099-DIV (box 11 ) or 1099-INT (box 8 )   that has tax-exempt $$ shown in those boxes, there is a followup page after each main form, where you are supposed to ID what states the $$ came from.  IF you indicated only "NC"  on that followup page, you were probably wrong.  Box 11 on a 1099-DIV would likely be "Multiple States" and box 8 on a 1099-INT would only be "NC" if you only held NC-Muni bonds.

For a 1099-DIV followup page (A 1099-INT would be similar), it would be done as follows:

Or if you bother to calculate the NC-only amount. it might b done as follows....but you do have to calculate the specific NC-only amount based on information the fund, or broker publishes separately.:
