eFiling is not included when we purchase a State Edition?

I just purchased the State Tax singled filing edition. Completed the return and now I go to efile, and discovered there is a charge to efile?  In addition to the $44.99 there is a charge of $24.99 for the state efiling process?   Tell me it ain't so.

Did you purchase desktop software with state software included?  They sell Deluxe both with and without state software--so you have to be careful which one you choose.  And even if it does have the state software download included, that is for preparing the state.  There is an extra fee to e-file the state.  You can avoid the $24.99 state e-file fee if you print and

mail the state instead of e-filing it.

it' so.  however. many states have a site where you can prepare and efile its return for free.   since you have already paid the TT state fee you may want to use it to prepare the state return but not file it then go to the state website and enter the info and not pay TT $25 filing fee. 

i bought the desktop deluxe version which had one free state efiled the fed for my son and the used the state's website to file for free.  it works beciase by son got boyj his state and federal refunds.

Hey Xmasbaby0,  Thanks for the quick response.  I pondered it a little more, looked at my Deluxe with no State Tax option included, then realized I must have fallen for the "cheapest price" choice.   Next year, I'll pay attention to what XXXX Vendor is advertising.  I've used TurboTax for probably a decade.  Never had any issues to complain about.  However, when someone labels a box Deluxe, I guess I'm thinking I should NOT have to pay $44.99 for the State Edition and then have to pay $24.99 for the efiling option.  I took a look at the many free options available.  I qualified for most, but with the ones I tried, I had to start with the Federal Return, before I could move on to the State Version.   I even considered just filling out the free version the state offers, but one of their drop downs I could NOT get it to work.  Finally, I just sucked it up and paid the 25 bucks.  I guess I think this product offering should not even exist, though I've heard there are something like seven states where you don't have to file a State Tax return.  Anyhow, lesson learned, now if I can only remember it for 12 months!   🙂   Thanks for the good advice.
